Model United Nations replicated at Kanjirowa

Kanjirowa National Secondary School replicated a Model United Nations General Assembly on 19 Poush, 2073. As in previous years, in this academic simulation of the United Nations, students from Grade VIII to X outstandingly performed their roles as the delegates of the UN member states and discussed on various current international affairs that affect our globe. The program was accompanied by Mr. Tristram Perry, Public Affairs Officer of US Embassy in Nepal as a chief guest and Mr. Ram Babu Shah, National Information Officer of UN office in Nepal as a guest. The participants were divided into six different agencies and committees: UNHCR,WHO, UNESCO, ECOSOC and the committees were FIRST COMMITTEE and SECOND COMMITTEE. The issues were Protecting rights of indigenous population, use of traditional medicines, impact of climate change in world heritage sites, involvement of youths and women in government, combating terrorism and sustainable tourism for development.
