A team of Higher Secondary Schools’ Association of Nepal (HISSAN) visited few educational institutions in Malaysia and Sri Lanka on October from 22nd to 29th. The team comprised of 17 members including Mr. Ramesh Silwal, Chairman and Mr. LokBhandary, General Secretary.  The members were welcomed to Limkokwing University, Malaysia where Dr. Mahaaganapathy. D, International coordinator showed the university campus and briefed what University is contributing in the field of innovation and transformation.  He showed his interest to work together with HISSAN. The team was warmly received in Nilai University and was briefed about the programs.

The embassy of Sri Lanka in Nepal had facilitated the HISSAN trip to Sri Lanka. The educational journeybegan with the University visit in Sri Lanka. The senior management team of University of Sri Jayewardenepura highlighted the different programs of the University. Prof. SampathAmaratunge in a breakfast reception showed his interest working with Nepalese educational institutions.  He assured that he will add some scholarships to Nepalese students in the University.  Mr. Silwal and Mr. Regmi appreciated the senior members’ efforts and welcomed their interest working with Nepalese institutions.

HISSAN team was invited in the ministry of education where the additional secretary shared Sri Lankan education system. The secretary of education too welcomed the team in Sri Lanka and expressed his interest to visit Nepal again and meet the HISSAN team.

In a visit of Kandy of Sri Lanka, the team was welcomed by Mahamaya Girls’ School. Students offered bouquet and betel leafs whichare the symbols of hearty reception.  Mrs. IndraWithanachchi, Principal shared the school culture in general and particular Mahamaya. Students had the opportunity to take part in different activities in the school.

It was a learning opportunity to the HISSAN team and the members were involved in the interactions during the visit. On top of visiting educational institutions, the team visited touristic places of both the countries.
